Vase Millepiedi
designer Ermanno Toso
1960
H 37 cm
The Millepiedi murrina is a reimagining of the classic Kiku murrina, a famous design by Ermanno Toso. It retains the stylized flower shape, but the murrina is larger and partially elongated. The outer rays of the murrina, in their elongation, resemble the many legs of a colorful centipede moving across the vase's surface. The murrinas in this unique masterpiece are juxtaposed, skillfully hot-worked by the master, joining them together without any deformation. It's a vase with a strong visual impact, solid and bold colors, a timeless one-of-a-kind piece that, due to its extremely modern characteristics, can communicate with any space, architecture, and other furnishing elements, whether antique or contemporary.
